Where to start…

The first thing to do is watch the “Introduction to Big Mind” video. You can watch it free on line by clicking here. This link will take you to our download site www.zen-eye.org. There you will see “Introduction to Big Mind” on the left side of the home page. Just click there and the movie will start playing. You might have to install Quicktime, which is free and available by clicking here.

This movie, featuring Genpo Roshi, explains the basis and foundation of the Big Mind process and shows some clips from an actual live workshop so you can see how it works.

The next step, depending on how you like to do things, is either reading Genpo Roshi’s book Big Mind Big Heart Finding Your Way, or watching the beginning DVD Big Mind Big Heart Revealed.

In this book, Genpo Roshi takes himself through the process, and as you read along you can answer the questions for yourself and find your own insights into the nature of your own mind and heart.

The DVD Big Mind Big Heart Revealed, is a 3 hour film on two discs showing Genpo Roshi facilitating the Big Mind process live with a group of about 20 people. Some are old students and some are brand new. They go through all the basic beginning voices from the dual and then into the non-dual.

Finally, you’ll be ready for the 5 hour Path of the Human Being, where Genpo Roshi leads a group of ten people through the five stages of enlightenment as laid out by Master Tozan some 1200 years in China.

Of course, there’s much more than this. On www.zen-eye.org, we’ve put up over 250 hours of zen talks and Big Mind sessions filmed over the last two years, and we put up about 3 new sessions a week, filmed live at Kanzeon Zen Center.
